Day 1-6 Colombo
Revel in the sights and sounds of Sri Lanka’s largest city, a bustling port and melting pot of cultures – try visiting one of the many markets, eating tasty local dishes such as kottu, and riding on a tuktuk as well as playing a round of golf and taking high tea at a colonial-style hotel.

Day 7-11 Kandy
Feast your eyes on this compact city that’s grown up around Bogambara Lake. Must-see sights include the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred Buddhist site. It’s also an easy day trip from here to the Lion Rock and the Fortress of Sigiriya, reached by climbing the steps cut into an almost sheer rock face.

Day 12-16 Nuwara Eliya
Drink a cup of local tea in the heart of Sri Lanka’s hill country. The surrounding countryside is almost entirely given over to the cultivation of tea and you’ll be able to try your hand as a tea picker in hotels such as the Heritance Tea Factory.

Day 17-21 Galle
Lose yourself in this exotic city where you can breathe in the sea air at historic Galle Fort, a walled peninsula lapped by the waters of the Indian Ocean. Explore the Fort’s colonial heritage, walk the bastions built by the Dutch, browse in its spice boutiques or simply watch the locals play a game of cricket. Bentota - Catch a wave at this resort strung out along the coast of the Indian Ocean. Try the famous "toddy" (an alcoholic drink made from coconut nectar), explore ancient temples or engage with local animal species at a turtle hatchery.
